Freestyle is a fun, low-impact sport where you put your dog’s tricks to music, and suddenly you are dancing! This new sport is good for all activity levels, and dogs love it. The moves can be practiced anywhere, any time, and are great for getting your dog’s attention or stimulating your dog’s mind and body.
As you begin Freestyle, think about these questions:
Thinking about these questions will help you use your experience with your dog while you take this course.
- Is your dog high or low energy? Which of your favorite songs best match your dog’s energy level?
- What motivates your dog most? Treats, toys, praise, a clicker?
Goals and Objectives
When you and your dog complete this course, you will have some of the basic moves needed to choreograph dance steps to your favorite songs.

Select music that matches your dog’s energy level and lure your dog through some basic trick moves.
