Choose a course from the Course Catalog using the descriptions provided. You can customize your training program based on interest, activity level, and prior experience.
- Review the course Content and Goals and Objectives. Read the Articles that are new to you.
- Print the pdf Checklist for that lesson so you can record your progress. You may need to download Adobe Reader.
- Select the first lesson.
- Read the Process and watch the video. Print the process to take with you.
- Choose a time when both you and your dog are in a good mood and ready to learn!
- Gather the supplies listed on the the lesson page.
- Begin the first lesson with your dog. Work with your dog for a short time, about 5-10 minutes.
- Revisit the course or lesson on Online Dog Coach to review the process.
Tips
- Keep it fun by using rewards, such as treats, toys, praise, and affection.
- Refer to the printed material as you work with your dog.
- End the lesson immediately if your dog loses interest, or you become frustrated.
